Recurrent airway obstruction (RAO) is considered a common respiratory disease of horses characterized by bronchoconstriction, mucus production, and bronchospasm.

Pulmonary hypertension is known to occur secondary to recurrent airway obstruction in horses.

Sedafell is used for treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs) in horses it makes relaxes and widens the blood vessels of the lungs, which makes it easier for the heart to pump blood through them, and as an adjunctive therapy in the pulmonary hemorrhage induced by exercise in horses.

-Give 2.78 g of Sedafell paste per 100 kg of body weight (0.833 mg of sildenafil citrate per 1 kg of body weight) one hour before exercise.

-In cases of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn foal, 20 mg every 4 hours is recommended as pulmonary vasodilator.
