109 POVIDONE – MOFED – Povidone Iodine , Vaseline

COMPOSITION:  Each 1 gm contains:

Povidone Iodine :100 mg
Vaseline added up to : 1g.

INDICATION:

Used in treatment or prevention of local infections in case of wounds, abscesses, burns, and fungal infections, e.g. navel disinfection, dehorning, castration, ringworms, and disinfecting prior to injection or surgery.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

After cleaning the infected area with warm water and soap, dry thoroughly, and then apply the ointment daily until healing

Apply ointment to the wound and its surroundings.
Usually, one use is sufficient to prevent infection.
If used as a treatment after infection, it could be repeated several times a day as required.
Bandages can be used in case of deep or puncture wounds, or serious burns, consult a veterinarian.
Do not use in patients with iodine hypersensitivity. If the animal developed irritation, redness, or swelling, treatment must be stopped.
Avoid applying on large areas of skin.
