178 Metro-Dern suspension – Metronidazole suspension

COMPOSITION : Each ml contains
Metronidazole                    125 mg

PACKAGING: 100 ml

Metrodern contains a metronidazole that has a limited spectrum of activity that encompasses various protozoans and most Gram-negative and Gram-positive anaerobic bacteria. Metronidazole has activity against protozoans like Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia and Trichomonas vaginalis.

Metrodern effective against for treatment of infections of the gastrointestinal tract caused by Giardia spp. And Clostridium spp. (i.e. C. perfringens or C. difficile).

Metrodern also used to treatment of infections of the urogenital tract, oral cavity, throat and skin caused byobligate anaerobic bacteria (e.g. Clostridium spp.) susceptible to metronidazole.

TARGET SPECIES: Dogs, cats, Rabbits and Birds.

Dogs and cats: 0.2 ml per kg of body weight (equivalent to 25 mg of metronidazole per kg of body weight) twice daily for 5-7 days.
Rabbits: 0.2 ml per kg of body weight (equivalent to 25 mg of metronidazole per kg of body weight) once or twice daily for 3-5 days.
Birds: 1-2 ml mixed with 1 Liter of drinking water for 10 days.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD: None

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Do not use in case of hepatic disorders.

Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance.

PRECAUTIONS:
Adverse effect may occur after administration of Metrodern such as vomiting, hepatotoxicity and neutropenia.
Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay: Metrodern is not recommended to use during pregnancy and lactation due to excreted of metronidazole in milk.

STORAGE: Store in a dry place away from direct heat (below than 30°).
